Ghana's bonfire story and history go way back to our Ancestors. Have you heard of Ananse Stories before?
Aspaatere Bonfire Story
Long before electricity was introduced to Ghana, communities gather around a controlled fire in the open air made from firewood to listen to beautiful Ghanaian tales and adages told by wise folks every evening. The fire served as a mosquito repellant while they gather to listen.
Stories told in our Ghanaian communities always highlighted priceless Ghanaian moral values and traditions which were indirectly passed on by the predecessors to storytellers and then to the next generations just to sustain the traditions/ good morals.
